Book Synopsis

Afraid to take a stand for Jesus?

What would you do if asked to defend or recant your faith?

Discover how the apostles, as well as other historical believers, were equipped to take a stand and defend their faith. The book of Acts comes to life in Marta E. Greenman’s relevant Bible study and will strengthen you to overcome difficult circumstances in your own life.

Take an in-depth look at:

  • The lives of Peter and John, and other first-century believers who answered their culture while standing firm for Christ in spite of persecution
  • Little-known facets of the stories of pilgrim, William Bradford, Martin Luther and martyr, William Tyndale.
  • The faith of heroes of the U. S. Revolution and our nation’s early leaders that shaped our great nation.

Strategies for overcoming, and powerful biblical principles, are intertwined with lessons from the believers of history in this eight-week, interactive Bible study. Five strategic lessons each week will encourage you in your faith, and equip you to face difficult days. Interactive questions will help you examine your own life and leave a deposit of faith.

“For we cannot stop about speaking what we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:20 NAS)

My Two Cents

This Bible study is really well written. The study is divided into eight week chapters of five days each. The author gives helpful Bible Study Tips in the Introduction.

At the beginning of each week (chapter) is an overview of what biblical truths that week’s studies will include and the applications you will learn. This is not only a good Bible study, it also is a good example to help you learn to study the Bible.

Throughout the chapters are charts, lists, and diagrams that will help you understand and remember

Biblical accounts of Peter, John, and other 1st century believers serve as models for how to stand firm for Christ in spite of persecution. The author uses stories of William Bradford, Martin Luther, William Tyndal, as well as U.S. Revolutionary War heroes and early leaders of our nation to illustrate and explain how to apply biblical truths.

This is a good study for new and seasoned Christ-followers and is good for individual or group study.

NOTE: I received a complimentary copy of this book for reviewing from Marta E. Greenman. I was not required to provide a positive review. Thoughts in “My Two Cents” are my own opinion.
