Book Synopsis
Parents of prodigals struggle deeply with the challenges they face of relating to their wayward offspring. Siblings, spouses, and children of prodigals face similar struggles. How do you live for Christ in the midst of such personal turmoil? How do you live with a grown child whose destructive choices have turned him into a person so much unlike the adorable offspring into whom you poured much of yourself? Ultimately, how do you bear the pain if that prodigal never returns?
In this book, Dr. Craig Svensson and his wife, Sue, show how they are no strangers to such deeply devastating circumstances. Svensson sensitively, engagingly, and compassionately directs readers to Scripture as he helps create the biblical framework for addressing the trauma of having a prodigal in the family.

My Two Cents
In The Painful Path of a Prodigal, Craig Svensson shares his family’s story of dealing with a prodigal child. It is an intense and frank look at how the prodigal’s behavior sends ripples of sadness and confusion into the family’s lives. Peppered throughout the book you will find hope and help through Scripture and biblical truth that serves as the foundation for the practical help that is given.
This book will be helpful for family’s who are dealing with a prodigal child. I encourage Pastors, Elders, Deacons, and biblical counselors to get this book and learn how you can use the biblical truths and practical advise to help others who are dealing with a prodigal child.
NOTE: I received a complimentary copy of this book for reviewing from Shepherd Press. I was not required to provide a positive review. Thoughts in “My Two Cents” are my own opinion.
