Through the lens of Scripture comes from my understanding as a Christ-follower that the Bible is our FINAL authority on every issue. God’s opinion found in the Bible outweighs our own opinion.
2 Timothy 3:16-17: All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. *
As Christ-followers we are faced with situations that tempt us to trust our own desires and follow our emotions. If we understand that God’s opinion is what matters, then obeying His Word becomes our desire.
Psalm 119:11: Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.
We will be looking through the lens of Scripture to determine what God’s Word says about how we view people, relationships, issues, circumstances and events. In order to do that, we must read, study, meditate upon and memorize God’s Word.
2 Timothy 2:15: Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Psalm 119:15-16: I will meditate on Your precepts And regard Your ways. I shall delight in Your statutes; I shall not forget Your word.
I look forward to sharing with all of you!

Good addition to my post, Charlotte. Thanks!
Deo sola scriptura: face-to-face with God by Scripture alone. Martin Luther who began what is known as the Protestant reformation used coram deo to express the belief that mankind lives with reference to God every second. Luther believed what the Bible asserts, namely that all existence finds its final meaning and ultimate object in God and that all emotions, actions, thoughts, and choices revolve around God. Luthers beliefs about life and mankind as rational, emotional, beings created and designed by an Infinitely Holy God are rooted in The Holy Bible. Genesis 1:1 affirms – “in the beginning God”. if we are to understand God, our world, others, ourselves, the reasons for life we must begin with Gods story as He has revealed Himself. Calvin said that all the wisdom we have is knowledge of God and of ourselves. Gods Word reveals Wisdom as none other than Jesus Christ- Proverbs 8:4 -unto you O men I call, & my voice is to the sons of men, 7 For my mouth shall speak truth and wickedness is an abomination to my lips 8 all the words of my mouth are in righteousness…11 for wisdom is better than rubies and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. Read the entire chapter for a fuller understanding. The chapter ends with what the New Testament also affirms in Romans 3:23 & 6: – for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God; for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal live through Jesus Christ our Lord. God, our Creator, loves us with such amazing Grace that He has provided the way of reconciliation to Him through belief in His Son, Jesus Christ. And then in His goodness to us left us His eternal Word that we may have all that is needed for “life and godliness” 2 Peter 1:3. Have you accepted God as He has made Himself known through His Word?
Looking forward to following you as you follow Christ in this blog — reading, studying, meditating upon and memorizing scripture!
